...as far as the east is from the west.

Psalm 103:12
New International Version (NIV)
12
As far as the east is from the west,

so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

As far as the east is from the west - As the east and the west can never meet in one point, but be for ever at the same distance from each other, God has moved our sins and their punishment are to an eternal distance by his mercy.

The Great Commandment

Mark 12:29-31
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is:
Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength:
this is the first commandment.
 And the second is this,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater than these.

Spring migration on the plains.

He alone is my rock and my salvation,
 my fortress
where I will never be shaken.

~ Psalm 62:2, NLT

God has blessed us with the seasons.  One of my favorite times of the year has come to be the annual migration of millions of birds in preparation for the arrival of spring!  This gives us hope in an otherwise dismal world full of trials and situations.

Much can be learned from thier perseverance through all kinds of weather challenges, predators, and yes us people invading their habitat.

We not only have a responsibility to care for others, but also these creatures of nature.

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

Great is his faithfulness;

No one has ever seen God.
But if we love each other,
God lives in us,
and his love is brought
to full expression
 in us.

"Life, more than a walk in the park..."

I spotted an elderly couple out for a stroll in a local park.  As I watched them , I was aware that they seemed to be in no hurry, and that they stopped momentarily to maybe enjoy their surroundings, pointing out various interesting sights on the trail.  I also wondered what was going through their minds.

Every time I see this image, in my mind, I am reminded of several things
about my own journey through life:
I can look back, or continue to seek out the path before me.

I can always take the easy way through, or I can veer off the beaten path
 to find new discoveries.

I must always be aware of obstacles that might trip me up.

I can stop and rest, and take time to enjoy life,
and be happy where I am at, or walk on past,
ignoring the blessings of each new step.

I can drink in God's blessings, or I can just simply get to the end of my road.

I can go it alone, or have someone by my side to share the journey with.

Even when it seems as though I am walking alone,
I can always rely on God's hand to steady and guide me,
and look to Him for direction.

LOVE TO ALL, NORM
